Summer ends soon, and so does your opportunity to make double the impact on Alzheimer's disease research, care and support. Please give before August 26.
Only a few weeks of summer left. Make the most of it with a 2X Match.
A generous supporter who wishes to remain anonymous has pledged $100,000 to accelerate vital Alzheimer's research — but we must raise the same amount by midnight on August 26. This means your gift — up to $100,000 — can go 2X as far to strengthen essential care and support and advance critical research efforts toward a cure.
Alzheimer's disease progresses through three stages.
Knowing the stages is crucial to understanding the best options for you or your loved one. There are U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved treatments available for some people living with early Alzheimer's that target the underlying biology of the disease.
But treatments are not cures. Everyone living with Alzheimer's, no matter where they are in their journey, deserves to have access to treatment, care and support that improves their lives and gives them hope. Your support can help us achieve that goal.
► Early stage (mild): A person may still drive, work and be part of social activities. Despite this, they may feel they are having memory lapses, such as forgetting familiar words or the location of everyday objects.
► Middle stage (moderate): The longest stage. The person may confuse words, get frustrated or angry and act in unexpected ways.
► Late stage (severe): Individuals lose the ability to respond to their environment, to carry on a conversation and, eventually, to control movement.
I want to thank you personally, Friend, for your interest in our mission: to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. I hope you can rise to the occasion with a first gift to our End of Summer 2X Match Challenge while it can go twice as far to support our vital research, care and support efforts.
Your donation will strengthen our efforts to advance Alzheimer's care, support and research. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising global research initiatives, your gift makes a difference in the lives of all those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias in your community and across the world. Thank you for your continued support.
