A new bill in Congress, the Food Security and Farm Protection Act (S.1326), is a direct attack on animal welfare, public health, and voters’ rights. Introduced by Senator Joni Ernst, this bill is nearly identical to the widely rejected EATS Act—and just as dangerous.

If passed, this legislation would overturn existing state laws that protect farm animals from cruel confinement, threaten food safety rules, and undo years of progress made by farmers, veterinarians, and advocates like you.

This is an unprecedented federal power grab that:

• Overturns voter-approved laws like Prop 12
• Reverses state protections for animals, workers, consumers, and the environment
• Ignores the Supreme Court’s 2023 ruling upholding Prop 12
• Gives more power to Big Ag at the expense of families, farmers, and animals
