This seat is uniquely important: flipping Iowa Senate District 1 would immediately dismantle the Republican supermajority in the State Senate, ending the Governor’s power to push judicial and agency appointments forward without bipartisan support. That shift is not just symbolic, it is strategic. Breaking the Republican supermajority would force negotiation on state leadership and key policy decisions, and signal real checks on extremist power in Des Moines.

Join Sister District DC Metro Area and our co-sponsor, Lead Locally, as well as members of The Woman's National Democratic Club, on Sept 29, to hear from our two incredible candidates for the VA House of Delegates-- IN PERSON!
Our goal is to raise $5,000 each for Delegate Joshua Cole and Elizabeth Guzman at this event, so please consider donating $50 in advance of your registration. There also will be opportunities to contribute at the venue on Sept 29!
