Texas Democrats who fled the state in protest of Republican-led redistricting have returned to Austin, concluding a two-week standoff over President Donald Trump’s push to create five new GOP congressional seats. After Democrats returned to the state capitol, the House gaveled into session Monday afternoon with enough members to make quorum and conduct official business for the first time in weeks. The map and other legislation now heads to committees before the session resumes Wednesday.

Cleansing the Capital

President Trump moved to federalize law enforcement endeavors in Washington DC.

The White House is lobbying Congress for funding explicitly dedicated to securing DC; crime is worse in our Capital than the “official” numbers indicate, as proven by a recently settled DCPD lawsuit. Even if the crime statistics in question are being artificially deflated, they're still horrendous at best.

If you needed further reason to question the competency and rigor of law enforcement endeavors in DC, look no further; our readers (unlike the DEI-appointed Chief of Police in Washington DC) likely at least comprehend what a “chain of command” entails.

Hundreds of federal troops and agents have been mobilized to return sanity to and end the stranglehold of crime gripping the gilded city on The Hill.

In Other News

Caitlin Clark might have legal grounds to sue the WNBA for labor rights violations.
Socialists have hijacked the Democrat party, it’s undeniable at this point.
The agency/brainchild of Liz Warren [D-Feaux Cherokee Nation] is officially dead.
A DOJ employee has been fired and charged with felony for throwing a sandwich at law enforcement officers cleaning up DC.
Over a quarter million illegals have been kicked off taxpayer funded benefits–we were assured this wasn’t happening in the first place.
On the note of things we were assured never happened, illegal ballot dumping at an electoral drop box was caught on camera.

This Week in Texas

This week, Democrat legislators in the State House successfully ran out the clock on a special session; only problem for them is Gov. Abbott immediately called them to reconvene for another special session. It’s now inevitable that a new Congressional map will be formally approved ahead of the critical midterm elections.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom moved to politically counter the Texas State House, and redistrict his state to “balance” the political landscape in Congress. Too bad the vast majority of Californian voters don’t share his appetite for a brazen power grab.

The decision by the State House will likely put incumbent Dem. Congressmen Lloyd Doggett and Greg Casar on a crash course for a dogfight of an election for the same federal seat. Even better, Rep. Jasmine Crockett could effectively be written out of the map altogether.

Redistricting wasn’t the only takeaway from this special session; there are a handful of laws going into effect on September 1st our readers should be cognizant of.

In Houston, another activist disguised as a judge broke the law to sympathize with criminals.

The race for US Senate continued to gain intrigue. A report early in the week indicated that the presumptive head-to-head battle between incumbent Sen. John Cornyn and AG Ken Paxton is likely going to take a few hundred million dollars to settle. The report assumed Paxton had maintained his once commanding double digit polling lead over Cornyn, but Cornyn has closed the gap recently. An Emerson poll finds Cornyn now slightly ahead of Paxton in a head to head matchup, with plenty of undecided voters up for grabs.
