As a first-generation American whose parents come from Eritrea, Andom understands the ravages of war. Through his experiences as a public school special education teacher in The Bronx, he saw the impact that our opponent's hawkish decisions had on the district.

When Eliot Engel votes and allocates dollars towards forever wars, that directly impacts each school in The Bronx and Westchester.

We fund the military industrial complex, but we can't fully fund our schools. After years of substandard education, our students feel compelled to join the military as the only way of accessing higher education and employment. This distressing, reinforcing cycle cannot continue.
