So, let me get this straight.

The evidence is conclusive. Background checks and restrictions on assault weapons save lives.

And, each week in America, it feels like there's another mass shooting.

Families broken. Communities shattered. Fear is rampant.

But, Republicans in Congress and the Trump administration do nothing.

Public offender number one? Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

It's not fair to say that McConnell isn't lifting a finger. Because he's hard at work blocking every reasonable effort to curb gun violence in America.

It's unconscionable, because it's painfully obvious to anyone with a sliver of compassion that we must take a stand for safety and pass sensible measures to address our national gun violence epidemic.

I guess the NRA and their allies will stop at nothing to allow this age of gun violence to continue.

That's why none of us should be afraid to take them on, to ruffle feathers, to make a few enemies.

They're going to come after any Democrat that attempts to do the right thing. Let's be ready.
