Hello Fellow Young Dems!
Reminder, tomorrow is our August membership meeting. At this meeting, we will approve our newly revised constitution. Please note this constitution will not take effect until we elect the 2025-2026 executive board at our November 19th meeting (more info to come).
Members who are unable to attend will be provided with an absentee ballot, which will be emailed to them after our e-board meeting tomorrow. Members will have 48 hours to respond to their ballot.
At this meeting, we will also be reviewing our campaign plan along with additional ways you can get involved in the Democratic campaign for the 2025 General Election.
If you are unable to make it to our General Body meeting, we’d love to see you at our Membership BBQ [ [link removed] ] (FREE for Members) and/or our August Social Hour [ [link removed] ].

Action Win!
On August 15, 2025, Arlington Public Schools [ [link removed] ] announced it would not comply with the U.S. Department of Education’s demand to roll back its inclusive policies for transgender students.
We applaud APS leadership and the School Board for standing strong, upholding our community’s values, and fighting for the dignity and safety of all students.
This victory is only one step in the broader fight. AYD will continue to keep our members informed and ready to take action in support of Equality Arlington’s calls to defend and protect our students.
AYD Statement on DC
The AYD Executive Board has released a statement regarding the Trump administration’s occupation of Washington, D.C. We stand in solidarity with our neighbors in the District and are partnering with Free DC in their efforts to protect the city and its residents. We will share upcoming actions and ways to get involved as soon as they become available.
