John,
Last month, Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress passed the “Big Ugly Bill.”
Buried within its hundreds of pages are sweeping cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) — one of the most critical support systems for working families, seniors, and children in Connecticut and across the country.
SNAP isn’t just a “program” — it is a lifeline for thousands of families.
In CT-05, it is often an assurance that tens of thousands of children won’t go to bed hungry and that seniors won’t need to choose between groceries and medicine.
With these cuts now the law, millions will lose food assistance, and countless kids will suffer.
I have heard moving stories from our neighbors: a single parent who works overtime but still counts on SNAP to cover her kids’ school lunches, a retired veteran who relies on modest support to supplement his fixed income, and so many more.
These are the real faces of SNAP, and they deserve better than partisan games.
I am fighting in Congress to protect SNAP — but to win, I need a strong grassroots coalition behind me.
Will you pitch in to help me keep up the fight for our families?
