John, National Guardsmen aren’t full time soldiers. They have jobs back home.

They sign up to serve their communities and help their neighbors. They respond to hurricanes, floods, earthquakes — and, if need be, foreign threats on American soil.

They are not, and have never been, meant to stand against peaceful American citizens.

But as we speak, the DC National Guard is patrolling the streets of our nation’s capital. The governors of South Carolina and West Virginia have sent their National Guard to the capital. And it’s been confirmed that these Troops are going to start carrying weapons in short order.

It’s a political stunt, it’s a dictator move — and you can bet that Trump is salivating at the thought of escalation. He wants any excuse to go even further than he already has.

This is still our country, but that’s only going to continue to be true if we join our voices and unite.

We’re asking you to join VoteVets and help us send these Guard Troops home. Sign on and demand Trump end this NOW.
