Friend,
My name is Daniel Gallegos Banda, and I’m a DACA recipient.
Growing up undocumented, I constantly worried about things most kids never have to think about — like what would happen if my parents didn’t come home from work one day, or if I’d ever be able to go to college.
Pursuing higher education or a career aligned with my passions never felt within reach — not because I lacked ambition, but because the barriers in front of me were deliberately placed and left unmoved.
Then, DACA gave me the chance to pursue my dreams.
Because of DACA, I was able to attend college, intern in Washington, D.C., and testify before the Texas Senate. Today, I’m proud to serve as an intern with the National Immigration Law Center, standing alongside the very organizations that once helped me feel seen and supported. By sharing my story, I aim to empower others to stand tall in their identity and turn their struggles into strength — for themselves and for those still finding their voice.
DACA helped open doors for me, but far too many young immigrants never had that chance. Nearly 2 million immigrant youth remain ineligible for DACA or TPS. We need permanent solutions — not temporary protections.
Friend, that’s why I’m reaching out to ask you today — will you send a message to your members of Congress and urge them to pass a pathway to citizenship for immigrant youth? ([link removed])

We cannot afford more delays. The stakes are too high. Across the country, immigrant communities are living in fear as this administration escalates its mass deportation efforts, targeting even immigrant youth.
We are asking for the opportunity to pursue a life with dignity, safety, and stability in the place we call home. We need a pathway to citizenship, and we need it now — without conditions, without bargaining, and without delay. Send a message to your representatives today. ([link removed])
Thank you for your support, friend. DACA would never have happened without years of organizing and public support. Please remember that, especially in the darkest times, your actions have power to make a real difference in someone else’s life.
Sincerely,
Daniel Gallegos Banda
