Hey John! This is Sam, Chris's son.

Usually, I’m away at college, but I had to fly back this spring because of COVID-19. I’ve been able to see my mom’s campaign up close for the first time in a while, and I must say I’ve been blown away by how hard she and her team are working, and by how many people in our district are already excited to support her!

This doesn’t surprise me though. This is exactly the kind of challenge that my mom likes to take on. I still remember driving through Bishop with her during the big Pleasant Fire in 2018. She was very upset, and when I accused her generation of helping to destroy our climate, she definitely took it heart.

From that moment on, my mom was determined to show me that her generation wasn’t all bad -- they can do things to help, too. Around that time, she started thinking about running for Congress, and using her skills to make our district and our country a better place.

I’m always proud of my mom, but even more so lately. So today I want to thank you for supporting her, but I also want to ask you to help her meet her big fundraising deadline on Tuesday.
