In Republican-controlled states across the country, lawmakers are looking to redraw congressional districts to benefit MAGA lawmakers and suppress the votes of Democrats. Here in Alabama, State Senator Arthur Orr basically gave the game away in a recent interview — saying he plans to “draw Terri Sewell out of her district…if [court] rulings go the right way.”
Essentially, if Trump’s right-wing judges on the Supreme Court give the green light to Alabama lawmakers to dismantle Alabama’s 7th and 2nd Congressional Districts, they’re prepared to do it — trampling all over the rights of Black Alabama voters in the process.
