Right now, Trump is working to rig the upcoming 2026 midterms. In Texas and across the country, MAGA politicians are drawing maps to silence Democratic voters and dismantle fair representation.

Democrats can’t afford to sit on the sidelines while Republicans rig the rules. We must be willing to use every ounce of power at our disposal to fight back. Because if we don’t, Donald Trump and his MAGA allies will reshape our country beyond recognition.

That’s why I back Governor Newsom’s effort to counter Texas’ gerrymandering — and why last week I hosted Texas Democrats who fled their state, risking arrest to block rigged maps and defend our democracy:

Trump’s gerrymandering scheme isn’t just about maps — it’s about silencing us. If he rigs Congress into one-party MAGA control, the voices of people here in IL-9 will be drowned out by the demands of MAGA extremists and billionaire special interests. Instead of representing our families and our communities, Congress would march in lockstep to the whims of MAGA voters. That’s not democracy — that’s a hostile takeover.

We have to fight fire with fire and that is exactly what I will do as the next Congresswoman from IL-9. I was the first Gen Z woman to be elected to office in 2019 and I’ve spent seven years fighting for fair representation and stronger schools as a Skokie school board member. Now, I’m ready to bring that same fight to Washington — to stand up to Trump, to push back against MAGA extremism, and to defend our democracy.

But I can’t do it alone. MAGA billionaires know they can’t win here with a Republican, so they’re trying to buy this race with a weak Democrat — because the last thing they want is me in Congress.
