John,

Last month, devastating floods swept through Central Texas. What did Governor Greg Abbott do to help? Start a wasteful, unnecessary fight over redistricting, and wait for George Strait to hold a charity concert for the flood victims.

The outpouring of generosity from Strait’s fans offered help victims desperately needed, but let’s be blunt: charity is not a substitute for a functioning government. It is an indictment of one.

This is a dangerous pattern. The winter grid collapse. Hurricane recovery. Time after time, Abbott offers photo-ops while everyday Texans are left to fend for themselves, relying on the kindness of neighbors and celebrities to survive.

Just last Friday, Abbott called a second special session, with redistricting on the agenda yet again.

We are done waiting for this failed leadership.

Ground Game Texas is on the ground right now, organizing communities to demand the resilient infrastructure and competent government we deserve. We’re building power to ensure that the next time disaster strikes, the first response comes from our state government, not a green room.

This work is powered by you. It is urgent.

Rush a donation of $10 right now to fight back. Help us build the power we need to hold Greg Abbott accountable and protect our communities.

Texas deserves a governor, not a master of ceremonies for someone else’s generosity.
