The writing is on the wall, team, and Republicans in Texas are on the run.

As of right now, five Texas Republicans have announced that they won't seek reelection next year -- and they aren't leaving Washington because they want to spend more time on the beach.

These representatives are retiring because they see what's happening all around them: Not only is their party taking a terrifyingly racist and extremist turn, but Texas is also on the verge of swing-state status. And they know that winning here is suddenly an uphill battle -- a massive, expensive undertaking that they've never had to go through before.

That's all thanks to people like you, but we have to keep up the pressure. Can you chip in right now to help us build on our grassroots efforts to flip those open seats?

The five retirements we've seen so far are from representatives in pretty competitive seats -- but even with these newly empty seats, the margin for hanging on to the House next year is still razor thin.

And while these retirements are the most concrete indicators we've had yet of where we're headed in 2020, Election Day isn't for another 16 months. A lot can happen between now and when voters go to the polls next November.

We have to keep at it, team -- and we need your help to do it. Your donations fund everything from voter registration to training for new organizers. Can you chip in whatever you can right now to help us succeed in 2020?
