This Tuesday, support emergency transit-only lanes in San Francisco ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

This Tuesday, SFMTA has the chance to approve transit-only lanes that will improve Muni speed and reliability throughout San Francisco. As traffic returns to San Francisco, these temporary emergency lanes will provide faster bus service that riders can count on. At a time when swift, consistent transit is paramount to our economic recovery and public health, these improvements are sorely needed.

Can you give public comment at the SFMTA Board of Directors Meeting in support of emergency, temporary transit-only lanes?

The first set of lanes - along the 14 Mission, 19 Polk, 43 Masonic, and 44 O'Shaughnassy - would improve Muni service across the city.

These lanes are pilot projects, so there will be ample opportunity for communities to weigh in before they're made permanent. However, without enough public support now, none of these improvements will happen.

Giving people the opportunity to experience the benefits of fast and reliable Muni service firsthand will strengthen the case for public transit and help Muni recover from the pandemic. Alternatively, if Muni continues to be stuck traffic, it will be increasingly inefficient to use, expensive to operate, and harmful to those with the fewest travel choices. That's why we need you to speak up for these emergency transit-only lanes this Tuesday at 1:00 pm at the SFMTA Board of Directors meeting.

Sign up today to give public comment and we'll send you talking points and an email reminder when the item is up for discussion.

If you can't speak in person, you can comment by 5:00pm on Monday by emailing your comments to [email protected] or leaving a message at (415) 646-4470.

Thank you for standing up for public transit!
