John xxxxxx,
In case you missed it, CNN recently aired a profile of a pastor named Douglas Wilson and the influential movement he leads. The piece revealed that his movement preaches that women should not be allowed to vote or hold leadership positions… |
One of the most appalling moments of the interview was when Wilson said, “Women are the kind of people that people come out of.”
We find that statement chilling.
But here’s the thing: While many are sharing the interview because it is flagrant and disturbing, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reposted it in support of Wilson… and subsequently revealed that he is actually a member of Wilson’s church. We know far too many others in our government subscribe to this ideology, too.
At Her Bold Move, we know the best way to block these men from writing harmful laws is to elect more women lawmakers. Women have been left out of conversations about our own bodies, safety, and rights for far too long. At Her Bold Move, we’re ushering more women into the rooms where decisions and laws are made by offering game-changing support to their campaigns.
If this video and Douglas Wilson’s movement make you angry and frightened – channel that anger and fear into ACTION. Help make sure that when men like Pete Hegseth put forth harmful policies about women, they are always forced to contend with women lawmakers. Rush $20.25 or more to help us elect pro-choice, pro-WOMEN women to office who will block sexist lawmakers across the country. →

“Women are the kind of people that people are meant to come out of.”
“I would support the 19th Amendment to be repealed.”
“Families should vote as a household, with the husband and father casting the vote.”
These are all quotes from a massively influential pastor and self-described Christian nationalist named Douglas Wilson. In a recent interview with CNN, Wilson admitted that he would like America to become a patriarchal society where men are dominant and women are expected to submit to their husbands. The interview has been shared widely, and we’re linking to a clip below so you can see it for yourself.
But while many people are sharing the interview because it is flagrant and disturbing, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reposted it with the text, "All of Christ for All of Life."
Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell told NPR that Hegseth is a "proud member of a church affiliated with the Congregation of Reformed Evangelical Churches,"
which was founded by Wilson. |
We have been sounding the alarm, as many of Trump’s appointees and policymakers in the MAGA movement have made it clear that they support these ideologies. These aren’t just comments by random trolls on the internet. These are the strongly held beliefs of powerful men who are the ones writing policy about our bodies, our safety, our well-being, and our rights.
But here’s the thing:
The best defense against this anti-woman movement is to elect pro-choice, pro-women women to political offices across the country.
When Wilson was asked if he believes women should be allowed to have leadership roles in government, he answered, “No.”
What other policies should we expect to see from the men in power who follow the teachings of this church? At Her Bold Move, we refuse to wait around and find out…
We MUST continue to elect pro-choice, pro-WOMEN women up and down the ballot to block chauvinistic, misogynistic officials from threatening our hard-fought rights as women. If you are as disturbed by this interview as we are, chip in $20.26 or more today to join us in this fight. → |

Her Bold Move |
Her Bold Move is the fastest-growing support network for women running for political office in America. As dangerous laws about women get passed in states with the lowest numbers of women in government (11%, 12%....), we're BREAKING the male supermajorities across those states.
Because men shouldn't be making laws about women's bodies.
