We've got to keep fighting

Friend,

We’re just five weeks away from Rashida’s August 4th primary! And this Tuesday we’re facing a critical fundraising deadline.

After Tuesday, we’ll report to the Federal Election Commission how much we’ve raised and spent: Our opponents will try and use this report as a way to undermine our progressive campaign, which is why we need your support today. Rashida has always rejected corporate PAC money, instead relying on our grassroots movement for change to power her campaign.

Please donate $5 or more today to send Rashida back to Congress to fight for us.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately:

Thank you for always having Rashida’s back.

Read Rashida’s email below about how she’s staying rooted in community, fighting back against economic injustice and environmental racism, and standing up to billionaire bullies.

--RASHIDA'S EMAIL--

Friend,

I grew up in the most beautiful Blackest city in the nation: Detroit. This is where I was taught to never stay silent or back down. This week, Trump said Detroit is “like living in hell.” Oh hell no. We love it here. We birth movements here. We fight for what’s right and take care of each other. But we've been left behind by a government that doesn't yet represent the needs of everyday people.

For years, together, we’ve been fighting back against economic and environmental racism―fighting the corporate polluters and billionaire bullies that exploit our communities.

Will you pitch in $5 before our urgent June 30th fundraising deadline to send me back to Congress to keep fighting for you?

Our workers should not have to beg for masks. Our sick neighbors should not go bankrupt because people in Congress don't have the courage to stand up to Big Pharma. And our Black neighbors should not have to die for us to recognize that structural racism exists and must be addressed.

It should not be this hard to gain access to resources and to not just survive, but thrive.

As the eldest of 14 siblings and as my mother's translator until I was 12 years old, I have been taking care of people all my life. As a child, I fought for workers’ rights alongside my dad―a UAW Ford assembly worker―and I’ve seen firsthand how hard it can be for so many of my neighbors in the 13th Congressional District.

That's why I ran for the Michigan legislature and then for Congress. We need a voice. We need a seat at the table. We deserve better.

Rashida and her children

As a state legislator, I successfully fought back against Marathon Oil and the Koch brothers for dumping toxic waste on our riverfront. Here, we've seen environmental racism firsthand, and it's a top priority for me to fix.

In Congress, I’ve introduced groundbreaking legislation like the BOOST Act, which uplifts 45% of people living in poverty instantly. I successfully created and passed the Water is a Human Right Fund to stop water shutoffs during COVID-19 and provide assistance for low-income families. And I’ve introduced bills that fight back against discriminatory practices by the auto insurance industry―a modern form of redlining.

I don't back down to billionaire bullies. In Congress and here in Michigan’s 13th district, I stay rooted in community and put people first. I don't take money from corporate PACs, and I never will.

Right now, we are only five weeks away from our August 4th primary. And this week we face a critical end-of-quarter fundraising deadline.

Can you donate $5 or more to send me back to Congress to keep fighting for our communities and our people?

Thank you for fighting alongside me for the future of our communities and our country.

Always serving you,

Rashida
