Dear John,
There is a great opportunity coming up to build the peace movement by supporting or creating anew a powerful local event on the International Day of Peace. We've got all the resources you could want -- and if something is missing, let us know!

International Day of Peace (September 21)
September 21 is the International Day of Peace, first
celebrated in 1982 and recognized annually by many nations and
organizations, including day-long pauses in wars that reveal how easy it
would be to have year-long or forever-long pauses in wars. This is a
good day on which to work for permanent peace and to remember the
victims of war. We've collected events you can join, and resources you can use
to support those events or to organize new ones.

#NoWar2025 Exploring Abolition Movements (October 24-26)
How do we move towards a world without wars, weapons, police, prisons, the death penalty, and borders? How can we work towards our collective liberation, recognizing that oppressions are interconnected? Come to #NoWar2025 to explore how we can join in solidarity across movements and borders to abolish these interwoven systems and build a world based on common security — “no one is safe until all are safe.”

If Humans Were As Evil As We’re Usually Told, We’d Be Extinct
Everything you've been told about Hurricane Katrina, the Lord of the Flies, the Stanford prison experiment, the Milgram experiment, Easter Island, the "Tragedy of the Commons," Kitty Genovese, broken windows, and ancient humans is a lie suggesting that people are evil -- the same kind, decent people you know and are.

The Sahira
Collective is pleased to announce that we're hosting a collaborative
mini-issue with World BEYOND War. This will be an opportunity for
writers, artists, and other creatives to present their works — to
display the meaning of home, especially when it has been overpowered, or
distorted, by war. LEARN MORE.
