The Republican candidate for Governor of Virginia was recently on CNN for an exclusive interview. It went just about how you would expect: deny, deny, lie, deny.

When asked, “Why hasn’t President Trump endorsed you yet?” She said: I’m not going to talk to you about things the President and I have talked about. She then proceeded to interrupt the interviewer as he tried to question why the leader of her party and President of the United States has not endorsed her yet.

Then, when asked, “Can you guarantee that if elected Governor, you would not take steps to further restrict abortion access in Virginia?”

She said: “My opponent, Abigail Spanberger, wants abortion up until the very hour the baby could be born.”

Not only did she not answer the question, but she jumped at the chance to spread misinformation to fearmonger the public. According to KFF, an independent source for health policy research, polling, and news: “Claims of abortions occurring ‘moments before birth’ or even ‘after birth' are false. These scenarios do not occur, nor are they legal in the United States.”

Wrong again, Winsome. Here in Virginia, we are fighting to enshrine reproductive rights so that politicians, like Winsome herself, who do not even bother to know that the laws of our state do not get in the way of us accessing critical care.
