Prepping for Legislative Session: Tents & Sunscreen |
Because you’re a kind, caring, and fierce BBP supporter, I’m reaching out to you today with an urgent request. In July we’re taking your issues and your voice to the Nevada Legislature’s Special Session and it looks like I might need to bring sunscreen (see the PS). If you saw Anne’s email on Thursday, she wrote about how we've kept important conversations going during the pandemic. But it’s not over! All the groundwork, the conversations, and the activism comes together right now. Are you ready to ensure everyone in Nevada can vote in November? Are you convinced that police brutality has to be addressed by our state legislators? Do you want the state budget to fund education, mental health, and medical care? We’ve created virtual platforms for you to hold your legislators accountable and we need your support to continue, especially during this Special Session of the Nevada Legislature. Please donate today! I’m headed to Carson City as soon as the Governor announces the date for the Special Session. Right now that looks like early July. I’m taking your voice, your concerns, your progressive perspective with me. And I’m going to fight like hell to get stuff done. I'm also taking a pop-up tent! I’ll be there for you as long as it takes. The BBP team will be working overtime creating messages, offering opportunities for conversation, and asking hard questions that resonate across Nevada. Your support matters today. Let’s go! Annette PS: The Legislature building may be open only for electeds due to COVID-19, but that won't stop me! |
