On a sleepy Friday afternoon earlier this month, the Supreme Court announced that it planned to consider whether majority-minority congressional districts - such as Alabama’s 7th and 2nd Districts - can be dismantled by Republicans looking to preserve their razor-thin House majority. The arguments have not yet been heard, but considering that this Court seems to be operating under a “President Trump gets to do whatever he wants” judicial philosophy, it seems ominous to say the least.

I’m committed to exercising congressional oversight, and when we flip the House next year I’m looking forward to serving as the first Black Chairwoman of the Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Oversight. We cannot allow this administration or this out-of-control Supreme Court to trample our rights — can you please chip in $ to help my team meet our mid-month goal and keep up the fight?
