Let’s skip the preamble: Today, I'm sharing 3 quick facts that illustrate who I am, what I’m all about, and why you might support my campaign.

#1: I’m Proud to Be “The Biggest Nerd in Congress.”

I’m an engineer by training, and I’ve spent my entire career helping to advance scientific research and innovation.

I was the CEO of an energy recycling company before I ran for Congress, and I’m especially proud to become one of the first candidates in U.S. history to run on a climate change platform.

With your help, this nerd will continue standing up to science deniers and polluting profiteers for years to come.

#2: I’m Big On Communication.

Communication is everything, folks. That's why it's a really big problem that our communication channels are controlled by oligarchs, dominated by wingnuts, and fueled by outrage.

I’m just one guy, but a platform is a powerful thing. I’ve built up a decent following for my musings on just about every topic you can imagine: climate science, energy policy, American history, economics, extremism, literature, music, and the human condition.

Oh, I also occasionally roast one of Trump’s many, many toadies, because someone has to keep their massive egos in check.

#3: I Always Keep It .

Unlike some of my colleagues, I don’t view science and truth as some kind of buffet where I can take what I like and ignore the rest. I let the facts shape my decisions, not the other way around.

Being an effective leader requires putting aside personal feelings for the greater good. It demands a willingness to tell the truth, even when the truth ain’t pretty.

For that reason, you can always count on me to keep it with you. If that offends anyone, that’s just too darn bad.
