Hi,

A “worst-case scenario” famine is unfolding in Gaza. Public health conditions are “catastrophic.” Hospitals are operating far beyond capacity and some life-saving medicines are totally out of stock.1

UNICEF reports on the “unimaginable horrors” in Gaza with over 50,000 children killed or injured since the start of Israel’s war on the Palestinian people.2 Over 100 children have died of malnutrition — a number that has risen exponentially in recent weeks.3

Dr. Ahmed al-Farra, head of the pediatric ward at a hospital in the south of Gaza told the New York Times, “There is no one in Gaza now outside the scope of famine, not even myself.”4

Netanyahu’s regime could not be carrying out what Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch are calling a genocide in Gaza without billions in funding and weapons sales directly from the U.S. government.

Demand Progress Action is mounting an unprecedented pressure campaign, sending tens of thousands of messages and calls to the House and Senate, taking back-to-back meetings with supportive Members of Congress and their staffers, and building nationwide grassroots momentum to end Israel’s atrocities in Gaza. That starts with Trump and Congress ending its sale of weapons to Netanyahu.

The stories and images of horror from Gaza are shocking. Toddlers emaciated from malnutrition. Children crying with empty pots. People mourning their dying loved ones in the street after an IDF attack.

And when Palestinians line up for desperately needed humanitarian aid, trying to save their families from starvation, Israel is shooting and killing them. The IDF has killed hundreds of Palestinians lining up for humanitarian aid in just the last few months.5

Israel has blocked nearly all food aid from reaching Gaza. Even as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has three months worth of food for every Gazan in warehouses just outside Gaza’s border.6

As Israel starves the people of Gaza, Netanyahu charges ahead with plans to expel Palestinians and occupy Gaza.

2 million Palestinians face forced removal from Gaza to dangerous foreign countries like South Sudan and Libya because of Israel’s displacement plans.7

2 million Palestinians face the daily threat of airstrikes as Netanyahu bombs Gaza and threatens a full military takeover.

Trump and Congress are in full backing of this wholesale suffering in Gaza. U.S. policy has allowed Israel to put Gaza on the brink of starvation and full military occupation: Tens of billions of dollars worth of weapons sales to Israel since the start of Israel’s atrocities and massive sums of taxpayer dollars flowing from Congress to Netanyahu.

Demand Progress will not stop pushing for an end to this man-made humanitarian crisis. There is building momentum in Congress and across the globe for Israel to cease its aid blockade and its murder of the Palestinian people. We will keep ramping up the mountain of pressure on our lawmakers to save Gaza. Are you with us?

Will you donate today to Demand Progress Action to support our work, including our fight to end U.S. support for Israel’s atrocities in Gaza?

With gratitude,

The team at Demand Progress Action
