I am honored to announce that I have received Cindy Sheehan‘s endorsement, a prominent peace activist, and a former candidate for vice-presidential nominee.

Economic Update

Our economy is heading toward an unknown turn. I am talking here about the people’s economy, not Wall Street’s. Looking at last year’s economy and before the current developments help us understand what to expect in the next few months. Living expenses and wages reached an alarming unbalanced rate, 78% of the people live from a paycheck to a paycheck, 50% of the people cannot afford $500 in case of emergency and 12% of Americans live under the fixed poverty line. We were already in a very bad shape before the current situation. Now, with 40 million jobless people and 43% of small businesses struggling to stay open, I do not know what would happen in the next few months. Especially, when the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures is going to end this month and the unemployment bonus insurance is ending next month, too.

I do not see any solution for this upcoming crisis other than reviving small and local businesses.
