ORBCOMM Ribbon Cutting

We are proud to welcome ORBCOMM to Sterling!

Sterling is now home to ORBCOMM’s new global headquarters! I am thrilled to welcome their team to our community. As I shared in my letter to ORBCOMM’s CEO Sameer Agrawal, their decision to establish its headquarters here is a testament to the talent, innovation, and opportunity that define our region. Their presence reinforces what we already know—Sterling is a hub for global leadership and forward-thinking innovation.

I look forward to visiting their new facility soon and working together to support their growth and success here in Virginia. Congratulations again to ORBCOMM on this exciting new chapter!

Emergency Committee on the Impacts of Federal Reductions

Last Thursday, the Emergency Committee on the Impacts of Federal Workforce and Funding Reductions met in Richmond to continue its assessment of how recent federal policy changes could affect Virginia’s communities, workforce, and economy. The session featured updates from committee staff as well as presentations from leaders in healthcare and higher education, each outlining the potential challenges and opportunities ahead.

Testimony highlighted the expected wide-ranging effects of the reductions in federal support, including decreased access to Medicaid services for vulnerable populations, higher health insurance costs as Expanded Premium Tax Credits expire, and budget shortfalls at colleges and universities that may limit programs, staffing, and student aid. In addition to the strain on working families, students, and institutions already navigating economic pressures, we expect shifts in the availability of skilled workers in key industries.

With the data-gathering phase nearly complete, the committee is shifting its focus toward policy solutions. Public input remains a critical part of this process, and Virginians are encouraged to share their perspectives on how these federal changes may affect their lives. If you want to speak with my office, contact us at [email protected], and a member of my team will be in touch.

Intern Spotlight

Charles Brumskine is a recent graduate of Potomac Falls High School. Charles lives in Loudoun County and will be attending the University of Virginia this fall, where he plans to study Political Science. He previously interned for Delegate David Reid (HD-28), where he gained hands-on experience in campaigning and constituent outreach. Charles is passionate about public service and civic engagement and is eager to continue learning about the legislative process. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, listening to music, and keeping up with state and national politics.

How My Office Can Help

Navigating state agencies can be confusing and difficult at times. As the delegate for House District 27, I can help you communicate with state agencies such as the Virginia Employment Commission, Departments of Taxation, Social Services, Transportation, and more! I can also submit inquiries with those agencies on your behalf. There are limits to what I can do, however. For example, I am unable to expedite cases or force state agencies to favor your inquiry, provide legal advice or recommend a specific attorney, intervene with judicial issues, overturn decisions, or be involved with matters between private businesses.

Whether you require my office’s assistance, want to bring an issue to my attention or invite me to a community event, please reach out! If there is any way I can assist you, please reach out here: https://atoosareaser.com/help/.

Alongside constituent services, I can submit drafts for commending and memorial resolutions. If you know of a person or organization in the district that deserves special recognition, please submit a request here: resolution request form.
