Team, Trump sent the National Guard into DC this week over a made-up “crime emergency.”
But Trump refused to call in the National Guard on January 6th, when violent rioters were storming our Capitol and attempting to overturn a free and fair election by force.
Trump’s DOJ slapped a felony assault charge on a man who threw a sandwich at a federal officer in DC this week.
But Trump pardoned 1,500 January 6th rioters, some of whom were convicted of violently assaulting police officers — not throwing sandwiches.
Team, Trump may talk tough on crime when he wants to terrorize immigrant families or harass people on the streets of DC.
But the truth is, Trump doesn’t give a damn about the law. He wanted the events of January 6th to run their course. He directed the mob to the Capitol. He refused to bring in the National Guard despite repeated calls from local law enforcement. He was hoping he could stay President despite losing “bigly” to Joe Biden.
Donald: I was in the Capitol building on January 6th. I saw your disregard for the law first-hand, and if real justice were served you would be in jail right now for your laundry list of crimes.
Trump’s authoritarian takeover of DC should make you angry. And it should make us all worry for the future of our democracy.
That’s why it’s more important than ever that we stand in solidarity against this wannabee-dictator and show him and the entire far-right that they will be defeated.
