John,
In March, Trump signed an executive order trying to strip nearly one million federal workers of their right to collectively bargain. The AFL-CIO called this move the single biggest act of union-busting in American history.
American workers are already feeling the effects of the Trump administration’s recklessness: missed Social Security checks, long waits for health care, trash piling up in our parks, grocery costs rising, and more. Americans need to know they can count on vital public programs we’ve trusted for decades but Trump wants to stack the government with unqualified political loyalists and cut critical social support.
That’s why Democratic leaders in the House launched a discharge petition to force a vote on the Protect America’s Workforce Act. If it can get passed, this bill would overturn Trump’s executive order and restore collective bargaining rights for federal workers. We need to work hard to get this bill on the floor for a vote.
Federal workers deserve protections from the ups and downs of our administrations. Safeguards for them would protect all of us too.
Sign on now to tell Congress to sign the discharge petition and bring the Protect America’s Workforce Act to a vote.
Thanks for standing with America’s workforce,
Democratic Values
