Hi John, Kansas Governor and DGA Chair Laura Kelly here. This email is only nine sentences long so I’ll get right to the point.

As a governor, I wake up every day thinking about the best way to help the people of my state.

But Donald Trump and extremist Republicans in Washington are determined to make things harder for working families – they just passed a massive giveaway to billionaires that will jack up health care costs, jeopardize food assistance, and put our rural communities at risk.

Here is the simple truth: All of our progress is at stake and we have to work to defend it. That’s why Democratic governors like myself are jumping into action to fight back against the Trump administration’s extremism.

But with three-quarters of our nation’s governors on the ballot this year and next, we need input from in-the-know folks like you to inform our strategy and share your perspective on what we should be focusing on.

Extremist Republicans are already targeting these must-win races, so today, I’m asking you to answer one simple question to help us compete and win these critical governors’ races and push back against Trump’s government overreach.
