2025 ELECTION ALERT:
Critical seats on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court are up for grabs in November. Donate now to support our endorsed Democracy Defenders and fight for fair maps >>
Hey John —
We just announced our official endorsement of three new Democracy Defenders in the critical state supreme court races coming up this November in Pennsylvania!
Justice Christine Donohue, Justice Kevin Dougherty, and Justice David Wecht have each demonstrated their commitment to protecting free and fair elections, safeguarding fundamental rights, and holding corporations accountable. They have proven they will always put Pennsylvanians and the rule of law first.
This is particularly important in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state with a recent history of gerrymandering. In 2021, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court stepped in to redraw new electoral maps after the governor repeatedly vetoed gerrymandered maps drawn by the then-Republican legislature.
Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court is a critical line of defense in protecting voters’ rights to “free and equal” elections as outlined in the state constitution — particularly since Pennsylvania lacks an independent redistricting commission that oversees congressional redistricting.
This November, Pennsylvanians must choose to retain Justice Donohue, Justice Dougherty, and Justice Wecht to ensure continued balance on the court and defend against potential gerrymandering efforts in the future.
We’re doing everything we can to make sure democracy wins in Pennsylvania and across the country — and your contributions, especially right now, go directly toward making sure we’re able to fight whatever redistricting battles lie ahead.
