Yesterday, I hosted Texas Democrats for a prayer at the Muslim Community Center in Morton Grove.

These brave leaders left everything behind—risking arrest and prosecution by the FBI— to do the right thing: stopping Trump from rigging the 2026 midterms.

A picture from yesterday’s prayer with me and the courageous Texas State Representatives Terry Meza, Sheryl Cole, Charlene Johnson, Christian Manuel, Barbara Gerwin-Hawkins, Lulu Flores, Josey Garcia, Jolanda Jones, Dr. Suleman Lalani, and Salman Bhojani.

After these Texas lawmakers fled to block the rigged congressional maps, myself, thousands of Chicagoans, and people from across the nation have provided them with food, shelter, and financial support while they hide from the FBI and state arrest warrants.

For the next three years this is the model we must replicate if we hope to have any chance of surviving as a nation: total resistance even if it means coming to odds with federal authorities.

Our democracy is under siege and Democrats must stand together, our survival depends on it.

That’s what I will do as the next Congresswoman for Illinois' 9th congressional district —fight MAGA tooth & nail, leave nothing in the tank, and crush their efforts to destroy all we hold sacred.
