A groundbreaking new study revealed what we already knew to be true: When Black women run for office, they win.

At the Congressional level, Black women have higher win rates than their counterparts. They outpace male candidates and all female candidates.

And in the past 10 years, there’s been a 67% increase in the number of Black women in state legislatures, and the number of Black women in Congress has nearly doubled.

But we’re not stopping here – our work is only beginning. The 2026 midterm elections are our next chance to build on this momentum – and we must be ready to fight back against Trump’s dangerous agenda.

Black women still face serious obstacles when it comes to fundraising – so we need to ensure we have the resources to elect Black women candidates in 2026 and usher in a new generation of Black leadership!
