Hi John!
Thank you so much for supporting our work! I know you’ve already heard from Salam a few days ago on why he and Dr. Hathout started MPAC over 30 years ago, but I want to give you some more insight into the work that we’re currently doing around the country.
Our Policy Work
Issues like the Muslim Ban, hate crimes, and family separation are threatening our civil rights and liberties. At MPAC, we advocate for American Muslims and other vulnerable communities by pushing back against bigoted policies. By passing bipartisan anti-hate crime legislation in the House and Senate and removing illegal settlements from Airbnb, we are working on issues that matter to you.
Our Hollywood Work
You’ve seen them - the terrorist, the oppressed woman, the taxi driver - these are the Muslims depicted on screen. Our Hollywood Bureau is changing these perceptions as the go-to consultant and networking agency for filmmakers, writers, and major studios. We engage decision-makers and creatives to improve the quality of authentic, nuanced, and inclusive depictions of Islam and Muslims. We also create opportunities for Muslim storytellers to tell their own stories. From blockbuster films to Super Bowl commercials, we are changing the narrative.
Our Young Leader Programs
Muslims have always been part of the fabric of America but absent from centers of influence. To increase our impact, we develop and empower talented individuals to become leaders in government, Hollywood, and the media. Our alumni represent us on Capitol Hill, major Hollywood studios, and national media networks.
In short, we push back against bigoted policies in government. We change hearts and minds through better stories in Hollywood. And we prepare the next generation of Muslim leaders. Thank you for supporting this very crucial work. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like more information on any of our work.

P.S. My colleagues and I will be sending you regular updates on our work, analysis on policy that impacts our community and ways to get more civically engaged. If you have any feedback, please feel free to contact me anytime.
