New VA Clinic Coming to the Tri-Cities

Image

This week, I announced funding I secured for a new veterans Community-Based Outpatient Clinic that will be constructed in the Tri-Cities.

This project, funded at $48,245,000, will revitalize veteran care in the Tri-Cities for over 16,000 veterans who call it home. Better access to modern care, benefits, and services for veterans has been a top priority during my time in Congress, and I am pleased to have secured the necessary funds to deliver new resources that will directly benefit those in our area who have served.

Stay tuned to hear when a site and groundbreaking date are selected.

Keeping Grizzlies Out of the North Cascades

Image

This month, Brian Nesvik was confirmed by the Senate to lead the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).

As we work to keep grizzly bears from being reintroduced in the North Cascades ecosystem, I penned a letter to Director Nesvik upon his confirmation reflecting the concerns of thousands of constituents in the northern part of Washington's Fourth District on this issue.

In my letter, I specifically requested the administration halt any movement of grizzly bears into the North Cascades, delist the Greater Yellowstone and Northern Continental Divide grizzly bear populations, as well as delist the Gray Wolf.

Advocating Market Access for Dairy Producers

Image

U.S. dairy products are known around the world as some of the highest quality products on the market. As trade agreements between the U.S. and our partners are agreed to, maintaining that standard for American dairy is critical.

I joined my colleagues in a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins advocating the need for strong market access for dairy producers in Central Washington and across the country.

Tariffs and trade deals are showing results for the U.S. economy, but protecting dairy throughout the process of crafting trade agreements ensures our products remain a top commodity for consumers around the globe.

You can read the full letter to U.S. Trade Representative Greer and Secretary Rollins here.
