Hi John,
I wanted to reach out to thank you for your unwavering support and with an update. We’ve all witnessed across the country the attacks on our democracy, institutions, and basic rights from the Trump administration. It seems like every day, the unthinkable is happening.
To meet these challenges head-on, we’ve been working on supporting our communities and identifying the best way Voto Latino, and our supporters like yourself, can help fight back. I hope you’ll let me tell you a little about what’s next but, if you’re already with us, feel free to pitch in here first.
From Texas Republicans actively and egregiously gerrymandering maps to give Republicans and Donald Trump an unfair chance of winning in the midterms, to a federal voter suppression bill that would disenfranchise millions from voting, Republicans are trying to steal the midterms NOW. We're ready to meet them head-on.
- We’ve identified critical legislative targets across the country, including in Texas, where we can stop Republicans and Trump.
- We’re investing in building short and long term communication strategies to ensure we organize our communities and build the movement needed to win.
- We’re creating and executing political, legislative, communications, digital, and community organizing strategies to effectively fight back at every level.
We can’t do this alone, so I’m personally asking for your support today. Can you rush a donation to help fund our work?
There is a lot at stake. For the past 15 years, Voto Latino has worked and invested in Texas, registering more than 600,000 new voters and mobilizing young people to turn out to vote.
My request comes at a critical moment where Texas Republicans’ bold and unlawful power grab for Donald Trump shows how Republicans plan to rig the midterms next year. They’re going to fight hard and they’re going to play dirty.
That’s why we need your support now. We can’t afford to waste a single moment continuing to build the movement needed to win and take back our democracy. Please make a donation today.
Thank you for your support,
María Teresa Kumar; Voto Latino President and Co-Founder
