I was proud to host Leader Hakeem Jeffries in Springfield earlier this week to speak with folks in IL-13 about how we can stand up for our communities and push back against the challenges we’re facing from this White House.
His resounding message was this: We're fighting for the people we serve and we're not giving up.
I have championed Illinois’ working families for my entire life – from raising the state minimum wage to $15, to expanding rural broadband access and protecting local jobs.
In 2022, I took that fight to Congress to bring back results for Central and Southern Illinois. Despite the odds, I flipped IL-13 from red to blue – and national Republicans have held a grudge ever since.
It doesn’t matter to the GOP that millions in the middle class will lose their health care and food assistance so they can give their billionaire donors a tax break. It doesn’t matter to the GOP that they are making life harder for working people.
It’s not right, and we can put an end to the MAGA agenda by flipping the House majority next year. The path to the majority runs through IL-13, and I need your support earlier than ever before to set the tone for success.
