What’s happening in Texas will have ripple effects across the country. It’s up to us whether the result will be a wave of extreme gerrymandering — or a wave of Americans rising up to reject these kinds of shameless power grabs.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has said he’ll keep fighting over these maps “as long as necessary.” We’ve got to be just as relentless and persistent — willing to fight tooth and nail against efforts to steal power through egregiously gerrymandered maps.

All On The Line is laser-focused on this fight, no matter what happens next. Our affiliates are prepared to challenge these new maps in court wherever they unjustly take voting power away from people. And we must be prepared to respond to any court decisions with the full grassroots power we have.

This won’t be easy, and it will take enormous resources. But in the fight for our very democracy, we can’t afford to back down. So we’re asking: Will you step up with a donation to power All On The Line’s grassroots movement so we can use every tool at our disposal in this fight?

It’s clear that some politicians are willing to stop at nothing in order to cheat their way into power in the next midterm elections:

* Flagrantly disregarding the Voting Rights Act and the U.S. Constitution.
* Threatening to arrest or expel lawmakers who refuse to go along with their gerrymanders.
* Calling the FBI to try to track down lawmakers who have not broken any federal laws.

We need to be ready to fight back with everything we've got. When they violate the law, the fair maps movement will be ready to battle in court. When they violate people's rights, we need to take this fight to the court of public opinion.

Power our work in this critical moment for our democracy. Help us be relentless in the face of urgent threats to the foundations of our democracy.
