Over the past fifteen years, right-wing judges have hollowed out the core tenets of this landmark legislation — and now the Supreme Court has indicated that it plans to go even further by eviscerating the standard requiring majority-minority congressional districts like Alabama’s 7th and 2nd Districts. Republicans are celebrating this all-out assault on the rights of minority voters — after all, they see suppressing our votes as central to protecting their fragile majority next year.
