Updates from D.C.

New Bill Alert: The Clear ID ACT

I teamed up with Rep. Maxine Dexter  (OR-3) to introduce the CLEAR ID Act because ICE shouldn't be allowed to hide behind masks and unmarked cars—especially not on the taxpayer’s dime. If you’re going to enforce the law, you need to show your face and say who you are.

No more masks. No more unmarked cars. No more invoking fear in our communities.

Social Security Act

90 years after Social Security was signed into law, Trump and MAGA Republicans think “America First” means coming for the benefits our seniors earned. In my TX-30, 107,356 people count on Social Security to survive.

Prices keep climbing, but instead of protecting seniors, Trump is protecting billionaires. He’s taking from folks who’ve worked their whole lives and letting billionaires skate by. That’s the epitome of betrayal.

Abbott’s Not Leading — He’s Taking Orders From a Criminal in the White House

In a CNN interview, I exposed how Republicans in Texas are cheating their way to power, targeting Black members of Congress, and violating both the Constitution and the Voting Rights Act—while failing the people they were elected to serve.

MAGA’s Dirty Redistricting Tricks & GOP’s Epstein Cover-Up
Image

I joined The Last Word to break down two fights at the heart of America’s democracy: MAGA Republicans’ shameless power grab through redistricting, and the GOP’s disturbing mishandling of the Epstein files. I called out Texas Republicans for weaponizing taxpayer dollars to hunt down Democratic lawmakers instead of protecting their constituents. I warned that this fight is about morality, accountability, and the future of our democracy—not just partisan politics.

Military Service Academy

Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

Congresswoman Crockett may nominate up to ten individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to our district. To request a Service Academy Nomination from our office, visit: tx30.us/military.
