Hey John, it’s Catelin Drey, Democratic candidate for the August 26th special election in Sioux City.
I’m writing this in between door knocks - today alone I’ve met Jane, Bill, Elena, two dogs named Molly, and a remarkably handsome cat. Conversations with every day Iowans like these remind me why I decided to run for the Iowa Senate: politics are personal.
This race is not just about flipping a seat or breaking the Republican supermajority - it’s about being a strong voice for my community. For my neighbors.
I’ll be honest - I’d rather be out here talking with folks than writing emails asking for money. But with the special election in just a few days, and our fundraising reporting deadline on Tuesday, I need your help. When the numbers are published, everyone - including my opponent - will see exactly how much support we have. I want them to see a strong, people-powered campaign that’s ready to flip this seat and break the supermajority on August 26th.
We’re working hard to flip Senate District 1, but Republicans are pouring money in to protect their supermajority. Every dollar we raise in these final days means more doors knocked, more conversations had, and more momentum going into election day.
Time is running out. Can I count on your support with a contribution of $10, $25, $50 - or whatever you can - to help me close this gap and show the strength of our campaign?
