Hey there -- I'll be honest, the Supreme Court's gerrymandering ruling one year ago was a setback for us. But the NDRC's strategy has never depended on one court or one decision. We've been pushing harder than ever and thanks to you we've had a ton of victories!

Make no mistake, though: 2020 will be our most challenging year yet. Key states like North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Texas are the battleground for redistricting. We need you more than ever.

Subject: Justice Kagan's blistering dissent

Friend,

One year ago the Supreme Court ruled that federal courts cannot limit partisan gerrymandering -- a decision so bad that Justice Kagan wrote a blistering dissent:

"If left unchecked, gerrymanders like the ones here may irreparably damage
our system of government."
-- Justice Elena Kagan

Despite this setback the NDRC has continued to execute our multi-pronged, state-by-state strategy, and here's what we've achieved in the last year:

-- We helped win important races in Virginia, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Wisconsin
-- We've already invested in four states and endorsed 67 state legislative Democrats in 2020, with more to come
-- We built on our scope of work to fight Republican voter suppression
-- And we're building the national movement we need to secure fair maps in 2021

But how much we can get done in the last year before redistricting depends entirely on our grassroots support. Will you help us keep pushing even harder to make sure everyone can have their voice heard in our democracy?
