Michael Whatley’s a Big Oil lobbyist and longtime D.C. insider — he was handpicked by the GOP to run the RNC and then run for Senate from North Carolina.
He’s an anti-abortion extremist who is pleased as punch that national Republicans have slashed Medicaid and enacted small-business-killing tariffs.
If that weren’t proof enough of his bad judgment, Michael Whatley was also self-proclaimed “Black Nazi” Mark Robinson’s biggest supporter.
When Robinson ran for governor last year, Whatley ran the NC Republican Party. He called Robinson “the greatest lieutenant governor in the United States” — no concern from Whatley for his anti-semitism, racism, misogyny, or disturbed online behavior.
John, Michael Whatley was all in for Mark Robinson just like he’s all in for whatever national GOP leaders tell him to support. It doesn’t matter what harm it’ll cause to North Carolina, if Donald Trump and powerful Republicans tell Michael Whatley to support it, he will.
Michael Whatley lacks the integrity, courage, and judgment to serve in the United States Senate. He’s wrong for North Carolina. He’s wrong for our country. And we deserve better.
