Friend, from day one I’ve said that I don’t work for the big insurance companies.
I work for you.
That’s why we’ve issued the largest single fine against a provider in Georgia history, and before today we’d issued more than $22 million in fines total.
Today, I’m announcing more than $20 million in new fines against insurance companies for violating Georgia’s Mental Health Parity Act. |
The Mental Health Parity Act was passed in 2022 and I was there when it was signed.
These companies have had three years to get their act together — yet our investigation uncovered more than 6,000 violations.
The time to get into compliance was yesterday. Today, we’re taking action and holding those who think they can skirt the law accountable.
Thanks for standing with me. Georgia families first, always. |
John King Georgia Insurance Commissioner |
I’m a lawman and a soldier, not a politician. As Georgia’s Insurance Commissioner, I’m standing up to the big corporations, rooting out corruption, and putting families first.
As the first Hispanic elected statewide in our history, I'm working to build bridges with Latino voters before Election Day.
This work matters, and it’s critical we have the means to get the word out. I need you on the frontlines with me.
If you’re able, I hope you’ll donate $10, $5, or even just $2 now. Every single donation counts. -John King |
