Friend,

I’m sorry to bother you on a Saturday, but I’m reaching out because the campaign has a big FEC deadline coming up, and I need to tell you why it’s so important.

Every three months, campaigns running for federal (national) office are required to file reports with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). The FEC will then put the report on its website for everyone to view.

The FEC reports ensure campaigns are transparent and accountable. They detail how much money we’ve raised, where the money came from, and what we all are spending money on. For example, if you pulled up our first-quarter report, you could see that Jan from Juneau chipped in to our race in February and that we bought some office products at Arctic Office Products in March.

This quarter’s FEC report is the most important filing yet.

New polling shows that Alyse is up by one point against 47-year incumbent Don Young. By posting strong fundraising totals, we can prove that this external poll wasn’t a fluke and that we really do have the grassroots strength to pull off a win. It also tells the rest of Alaska and the nation whether ours is a campaign worth investing in.

Now, I’ll be honest: Our campaign has been “virtual” for the entire quarter to keep our team and our communities safe, but it makes raising money harder when Alyse can’t meet voters in-person. We’re relying on emails like this to help us make up the gap.

I hope you’ll consider pitching in today to help us end the FEC fundraising quarter strong. Any amount, even $1, sends a message that we’re a serious campaign ready to win in November. [link removed]

Thanks for being on our team,

Kim (Alyse’s finance director)
