Dear John,

We need your help to secure vital funding for Louisiana’s coast and communities!

Take Action Now!

House Bill 636 is a constitutional amendment that will provide desperately needed funding for coastal protection and restoration projects contained in the state’s Coastal Master Plan.

Despite passage by the Louisiana House with a wide margin of support, House Bill 636 has stalled in the Senate. The bill’s future is in jeopardy unless the Senate takes action this week.

As we enter another hurricane season, Louisiana needs long-term funding to protect communities and infrastructure from storms and flooding. At the same time, coastal funding is expected to plummet when settlement money from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill expires. This bill will provide a pathway for the state’s coastal program to continue to be as successful into the next decade as it is today.

Knowing this, our leaders must work to secure dedicated future funding for our coast.

Tell your Senator today that you want House Bill 636 scheduled in the Senate within the last few remaining days of the session! Louisiana cannot afford a future without dedicated coastal funding. HB 636 deserves to be heard in the Senate.

Take Action Now!
