Right now, the NDRC is focusing efforts on stopping the anti-democracy scheme to steal the midterm elections by manipulating maps in Texas.

But this fight isn't just about defeating one extreme, gerrymandered map. It's about exposing Republicans’ shameless efforts to cheat so their actions come back to haunt them — in Texas and across the country.

It’s pretty simple: Trump’s policies are unpopular. His approval rating is in the toilet. Americans are rightly pissed off about the devastating cuts to Medicaid and food benefits. And Republicans are hoping to get away with it by stacking the deck in the midterms, so they don’t face the consequences of their actions at the ballot box. At Trump’s demand, they’re taking unprecedented, anti-democracy measures to change the maps in order to stockpile unchecked power.

A big part of our job is ensuring these anti-democracy MAGA extremists pay the price for trying to destroy our democracy. Want to help?

Here’s our two-pronged approach to make this happen:

• Identify every attempt to manipulate maps and call out anti-democracy legislators engaging in extreme gerrymandering.
• Bolster the candidacies of Democracy Defenders in key state-level races this fall and throughout the midterms. We will make sure voters know what’s at stake in elections that otherwise don’t get enough attention.
