Tell your members of Congress: Keep public lands in public hands
Public lands span approximately 640 million acres nationwide, protecting
important cultural sites, providing outdoor recreation, and sustaining clean
water resources. They generate $45 billion in economic output and provide nearly
400,000 jobs across the country.
Our public lands are overwhelmingly popular, but the Trump administration and
Republicans in Congress continue to push attempts to sell off these lands.
We need your voice: tell your members of Congress to keep public lands in public hands >> [link removed] TAKE ACTION NOW >> [link removed] Friend, Public lands are under threat nationwide as the Trump administration and
Republicans in Congress attempt to sell them off to states, extractive
industries, and developers. The 2025 budget reconciliation bill was one of the biggest sell-offs to the
fossil fuel and extractive industries in history — greatly expanding coal
mining, logging, and oil and gas drilling on public lands, including in the
Arctic. And proponents of sell-off are just getting started:they’re working to defund land management agencies and fire the public servants
who steward our public lands, attack bedrock environmental laws, repeal
protections for millions of acres of forests and protected areas nationwide, and
increase harmful fossil fuel development on these lands. If the administration and Republicans get their way, we could lose hundreds of
millions of acres of our public lands to extractive industry and developers. Make your voice heard today: tell your members of Congress to protect public lands and stand against the sell-offs. [link removed] Our public lands provide numerous benefits to people and the planet —
safeguarding important historical and cultural sites, providing spaces for
outdoor recreation, and sustaining our clean water resources — all while
generating $45 billion in economic output and nearly 400,000 jobs in communities
across the country. Protecting public lands is overwhelmingly popular across the country. And as
backlash against sell-off proposals has shown, selling them off is not. We need
to continue showing Congress and proponents of the sell-offs that our public
lands should remain in public hands. Send a message to your members of Congress today: urge them to oppose any efforts, either Congressional or administrative, to sell off our public lands. [link removed] Thank you for all you do. America Fitzpatrick
