When people picture a campaign manager’s job, they have a tendency to picture someone power-walking down an ornate hallway, or sitting at the head of a conference table giving an impromptu speech about the meaning of democracy set to a dramatic film score.
In reality, I spend most of my time looking over spreadsheets. It’s a lot less glamorous, but the fact is, our ability to run a successful campaign will depend, in large part, on cold hard math.
So here’s why I’m reaching out: I’ve been going through every detail of our budget. I’ll spare you all the details, but the topline is this: We need enough resources to run a serious ad campaign for months leading up to Election Day. Right now, we only have the funds for a few weeks.
Listen, we’re not National Republicans. Sharice doesn’t have the luxury of calling up a handful of right-wing billionaires on her phone, and letting them cover the rest. This is a grassroots-powered campaign through and through — and that’s why we need your help.
