We need to give you an honest update today:

Yesterday, Eugene reached out to you about our mid-quarter fundraising progress, and unfortunately, we did not catch up to our fundraising goals.

August is known to be one of the toughest months for political fundraising — experts even have a name for it: The dreaded “summer slump.” So a slowdown right now is not unheard of and was one we were prepared for.

But truthfully, with Trump’s dreadful political ploys and national Republicans attacking Eugene, this month has proven to be a bit more difficult than we anticipated. And in a race this important, we cannot fall short.

So we are reaching out today to kindly ask: Can you please contribute $3 or whatever you can afford right now to Eugene’s campaign today to help us catch up? We truly would not ask if it weren't necessary.

At this point in the month, we should be about 40% of the way to our mid-quarter goal, but truthfully, we are only 33% there. 7% doesn’t sound like a lot, but in a race this close, every dollar matters.

We know that making up that 7% is possible, but it will only be possible if we have a big day today.

So, John, will you help us close the gap? Whatever amount you donate — $5, $30, or $100 — will put us one step closer to reaching our goal and helping Eugene stay in Congress.
