As the Trump administration keeps the Epstein files tight to its chest (the documents reportedly contain numerous redacted mentions of Trump), media appearances by victims of the notorious late pedophile have hampered the president’s hopes of redirecting the public eye anywhere but on his former friend Jeffrey Epstein. A vexed Trump, Rolling Stone reports, has privately taken to calling some survivors of Epstein’s abuse "Democrats," suggesting they may be trying to sully his reputation for political purposes. Meanwhile, the daily drip of salacious and incredibly creepy stories — like Donald and Epstein once competing to sleep with Princess Diana to further their own celebrity status — is doing little to help the MAGA cult leader move past the ongoing scandal entirely of his own making.

DOJ takes official control over DC police, cancels order limiting immigration enforcement
The Trump regime is scrapping Washington, DC's longstanding "sanctuary" policies and enabling local police to collaborate with ICE during the wannabe dictator's federal takeover of the city, CBS News reports. In a directive issued on Thursday, Attorney General Pam Bondi rolled back several policies that previously curtailed officers’ ability to work with federal immigration agents, while naming a new “emergency police commissioner” to oversee the department for the duration of Trump’s fascistic takeover. That directive rescinded an order Metropolitan Department Police Chief Pamela Smith had just issued on Thursday, which allowed police to share information with ICE about people who weren't in custody while limiting their ability to aid agents in other ways. It also canceled other MPD guidance, which barred officers from arresting people solely based on an immigration warrant and required them to have a warrant for an underlying crime. Officers are now able to search databases for a person’s immigration status under Bondi’s directive.

DC man who threw sub sandwich at CBP officer has been fired from Justice Department job, hit with felony charges
"This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months," Attorney General Pam Bondi tweeted with what we can only assume was a straight face. Upon being apprehended, Sean Charles Dunn, a 37-year-old Air Force veteran who worked as an international affairs specialist in the DOJ’s criminal division until this week, copped to his dastardly act, stating, "I did it. I threw a sandwich." Dunn first appeared in DC Superior Court on Monday, where a judge quickly and very reasonably released him. Two days later federal prosecutors obtained a new warrant and sent 20 OFFICERS TO DUNN'S HOME to arrest him. Again. On trumped up felony assault charges carrying as much as eight years in prison, which a second, federal judge brushed off as cartoonishly excessive. Dunn's next court date is set for Sept. 4.

Donald Trump announced this year's recipients for the Kennedy Center Honors, and the list is, well, something... Country music singer George Strait, Broadway star Michael Crawford, singer Gloria Gaynor, actor Sylvester Stallone, and...KISS. Yes, KISS. Tom Cruise reportedly turned down an invitation from Donald citing "scheduling conflicts," as in, "I am sorry my schedule will not allow me to destroy the legendary career I have spent decades building in a single evening. I must politely decline." Never one to miss the opportunity to turn the spotlight on himself, Donald told reporters he plans to give himself the once-prestigious award next year: "I waited and waited and waited, and I said, 'The hell with it, I'll become chairman and I'll give myself an honor.' Next year, we'll honor Trump, okay?" Super normal stuff from our super normal president who in no way is exhibiting the sort of behavior once only associated with the likes of Kim Jong-Il and Muammar Gaddafi.
